District Benchmarks this week!! The schedule is as follows:
Monday- Math
Tuesday- Reading
Wednesday- Social Studies Assessment and Science Assessment
Thursday- Writing Assessment


Make sure all students go to bed early and are well-rested.  All children need to be ready before 8:15am! Testing starts at exactly 8:30

December 4-8,2017


First and foremost, I would like to congratulate each and everyone of you for participating in this years "Christmas Around the World" Ornament/Project for our classroom! The students did an amazing job presenting their project and valuable information to their peers.


I will be allowing your kids to take some pictures with their devices so that they will be able to share them with you!


Next week we will cover Chapter 14 Eastern Europe and Chapter 15 Russia!


Students will know:
that Russia and the Eurasian Republics have a unique geography, history and that people speak a variety of languages and have different cultures.

2nd Six Weeks-Week 2

Chapter 6- Mexico

Students will know that Mexico City is on the site of the ancient Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan and its beautiful landforms and waterways.

We will discuss the physical geography and describe climates in Mexico.

Group Presentations on Friday October 20th!

Week of October 1-5 2017

World History students will be reviewing this week for their 1st Six Weeks Common Assessment.  They will be taking their Interactive Notebook home to study. Chapters 1-4 will be combined into a review.

Assessment for World History will be on Wednesday, October 3rd! It is very important for our children to come to school every single day.

Week of September 25-28,2017
 My Historians have started learning about North America and our beautiful country of the United States of America!

On Monday we will discuss why history is important and important concepts such as:
- The Cold War
-History of the United States
-Why European nations wanted to control the land in our continent.

It Matters Because...
Learning about our nation's past will definitely help us understand all of our country's diversity and complexity.

Welcome fellow Historians!!!

This week on Friday, September 15th, we will be celebrating 16 de Septiembre.  Some of the students volunteered to bring a snack of some sort while others will be bringing a report to discuss in class!

Week of May 15-19,2017

My historians will engage in a class project this week! We will create a globe and choose a specific country to research and provide the information in their globe!

They will need their own materials and will work in groups.  Also, friendly reminder...our 6th grade trip will be on Friday, May 19th.

Students have to report to campus at 5am!! For any questions please contact Mrs. Adriana Cantu, our grade level leader!

Week of May 1-5, 2017

STAAR is almost here! I know that with persistence and hard work, our students will rise to the top!

As a member of a very united Falcon Family, it is our duty to work together as a team and encourage each and every child to the best of his/her ability.  I will be assisting with several concepts/objectives in reading this following week!

I feel that a little extra enhancement in Summarization and Main Idea will be a key factor in our all around outcome!

Students will continue with same chapter and reviews.  I will also be incorporating objectives such as Summarization and Main Idea on my lectures. 
Our students will be more than ready to tackle the STAAR exams very soon!!

Chapter 26- Oceania, Australia and New Zealand

Students will identify landforms and waterways in the regions.  We will discuss religion, daily life, and the culture of Australia and New Zealand.

We will analyze the maps to identify countries, cities, and geographic features.

And, we are almost done with the 5th Six Weeks!


Assessment for World History will be on Tuesday, April 4th! Students need to make sure and study their interactive notebook, all of the assessment will be coming from it.

Week of March 27-31,2017!!!!


I hope and wish all of my Historians enjoyed their week off in Spring Break!


I did notice that your youngsters cam back very energetic and eager to learn! The following week will be very challenging...not only will we cover a new chapter in my class, we will also be administering the District Benchmark #2!


Make sure and emphasize to your children that punctuality, attendance and assertiveness are key!

Week Of March 6-10,2017


Chapter 25-South Asia
 The learner will discuss the early history and religious traditions of South Asia!  We will also discuss and describe the three Indian Empires in Modern Asia.


Students will also work on independent work by constructing a timeline beginning with the Indus Valley Civilization.

Week of February 27 to March 3rd!


Let's welcome the 5th Six Weeks with open arms!  My historians will be reading and identifying new landforms and bodies of water in Southeast Asia!


We will also discuss several tragedies that happened in this particular region of the world, the Earthquake in 2004, the famous volcano Krakatoa's eruption in 1883 and other important facts about Southeast Asia!

Chapter 21 West Africa


Students will know that West Africa has a diverse landscape,which includes deserts, steppe, savanna, and rain forests.


Students will be able to:
describe the landforms, describe the vegetation and discuss important natural resources.

If your child comes to me and tells me something unique about one of these countries, I will switch a low grade to a 100!!!


West Africa Countries:
